Announcing Our New LG1750!

We’re proud to announce the addition of the most powerful crane in our fleet. Our new Liebherr Group LG1750 SX3 boasts 850 US tons (750 tonnes) of lifting power and a maximum tip height of over 564’ (172m)!

The unique LG mobile #crane platform truly is an #engineering marvel that combines the strong lattice boom and upper works of a traditional crawler crane with the carrier chassis of an all-terrain crane - resulting in increased stability, mobility, and an ultra compact 3m wide travel configuration. This narrow footprint is particularly well suited to #windpower projects as it greatly reduces the environmental impact and cost of road construction on these projects between turbine sites.

New Flagship Hydraulic Crane Joins Fleet

A.W. Leil Cranes & Equipment is very excited to debut its new 450 USt all-terrain crane. The Grove GMK6400-1 is a new model, and a first of its kind in Canada. As the successor to the popular GMK6400 model, the new GMK6400-1 has made several improvements that boost efficiency and productivity on customer sites such as Manitowoc’s Crane Control System (CCS), faster & more powerful hydraulics, and MAXbase variable positioning outriggers.

As a six-axle machine, the crane outperforms the competition in every category, boasting a maximum tip height of 448 ft (136.6 m) from within a smaller overall footprint — at 57.5 ft (17.5 m) in length, 9.8 ft (3 m) minimum width and a boom overhang of 5.9 ft (1.8 m). This makes it an ideal fit for bridge construction, wind farm work, and other energy and infrastructure applications. Most importantly, this is the most powerful and advanced hydraulic crane that can travel Atlantic Canadian roads without removing the boom – saving time & money on the job site during assembly.

The crane is well appointed with the optional, self-rigging MegaWingLift™ attachment, which can increase lift capacity on the 197 ft (60 m) five-section main boom by up to 70%, while reducing counterweight loads and trucking costs. Additionally, the main boom and luffing jib are equipped with factory boom-walk fall restraint systems to keep our employees (and your job site) safe.

Construction begins on new AW Leil office in Pictou County

Workers begin construction on the new office in Westville NS for AW Leil Cranes & Equipment. The temporary office at this location will be replaced with a permanent structure this year. The office is located at 2040 Willbrooke Ave. just off of Highway 104 at Exit 21.

Working through one of the worst winters in recent memory, AW Leil Cranes & Equipment finishes up erection work on the 34 turbine wind farm at South Canoe Lake in Nova Scotia.  The grand opening of the wind farm is on June 21, 2015.

SeaFort Capital Announces Acquisition of Partners Cranes by A.W. Leil

HALIFAX, Feb. 11, 2013 /CNW/ – SeaFort Capital Inc. (“SeaFort”) announced today that portfolio company A.W. Leil Holdings Limited (“A.W. Leil”) has acquired the business and operating assets of Partners Cranes.  Based in Pictou, Nova Scotia, with additional offices in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Partners is an established Atlantic Canadian crane rental and lift services business.  The acquired assets include 23 cranes and additional support and transportation equipment.
